The chess player must be marked with an armband issued by the Danish Chess Federation (DM) throughout the championship .
Companies can register teams through the local scaffolding club.
There may be a maximum of two apprentices per journeyman .
Participants must be 18 years of age or older .

The construction drawing will be handed out on Friday at 5:00 PM . After that, the chess players have one hour to ask questions to the judges about the construction and the rules.
The unveiling will take place at Audebo School, but can also be followed online. Chess fans who cannot be physically present can ask questions online during the allotted time.
Chess players who wish to participate online at the unveiling must notify this no later than Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 12:00 noon to the person responsible for registration, participation or the championship in general: Karsten Jensen · karsten.tvede@gmail.com · 28 90 06 57 .
All chess players must report their arrival at the Coffee Cart to the judge on duty no later than Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
There will be a draw on Saturday morning for rounds and construction sites.
Cleanup and shutdown will take place Saturday evening and Sunday.
5. Rules DM in Scaffolding
All participants must bring and use the required personal protective equipment according to Danish legislation.
Collective security is provided and must be used where required by law.
Technical aids may be used for both horizontal and vertical transport of equipment.
Each structure is supervised by at least one judge during set-up, modification and dismantling. The judge:
continuously assesses the performance of the work,
gives start and stop signals with horn,
records penalty time for construction errors,
responds to security failures,
and takes time. The referee's clock is always valid for time registration. Other clocks (e.g. spectator clocks) are only indicative.
The chessmen build, modify and dismantle in the order determined by drawing lots.
The draw gives each chess player a round number and a place number . Example: “2-2” means 2nd round, place 2 .
The materials for the construction are located at the assigned work area. There will also be extra safety bars (pigtails).
Both the chess player and the referee check the presence of the materials according to the loading list before starting.
Cages with spare parts have been set up , which may only be used in the event of a defect in the standard package. Defective parts are placed immediately next to the spare parts cage.
Once all chess players and judges have approved the materials, the countdown begins.
After counting down from a minimum of 10, the referee gives the signal with the horn for a general start. Then assembly begins and the time is started.
A chess set consists of three participants . There must always be a designated chess setter (can be changed during the work). Missing a chess setter is equated with a safety error in the event of a fall risk and may result in expulsion. The chess setter is marked with an armband issued by the DM in Stillads.
Foot spindles must be placed in the middle of the pressure equalizers. Deviation of up to 2.5 cm is acceptable, but the entire foot plate must always have full support.
Floor changes may only be made when the underlying floor has been installed in terms of stability. Only skirting boards may be retrofitted.
However, support pipes can be installed subsequently, provided that the structure is never loaded beyond the permissible load and the work is carried out correctly in terms of safety and health.
Omitted equipment (e.g. safety bars at cantilevers) or premature floor change triggers a safety error = +2 min.
Defects must be corrected immediately before work can continue on the next floor or structure.
+1 minute is added for each construction error/defect that has not been corrected before the floor change.
Lack of safety or danger of falling is immediately pointed out by the judges.
Working without proper safety gear (e.g. kneeling, under a handrail or without proper harness engagement) will result in the following sanctions:a) First time: +5 min , the error must be corrected immediately before work can continue.b) Second time: +5 min + temporary expulsion for 5 minutes to a designated expulsion area. The expelled person may not participate in the work (either physically or with advice) during this period. The game continues with 2 participants, one of whom must be the chess scum.c ) Third time: +5 min + permanent expulsion from the task. The game continues with 2 participants, one of whom must be the chess scum .
When transporting vertically, equipment must not be thrown, dropped or otherwise released in an uncontrolled manner. If the equipment is lifted manually, at least one hand must always be on it. When using technical aids (e.g. elevator, wire hoist), the instructions for use must be followed.
Lack of control during vertical transport (e.g. no hand on equipment, loss, throw or similar) is considered a safety error and triggers +2 min per part/repetition .
The construction is considered complete when:
the banner provided is mounted and hanging from the handrail at the top floor level , and
The chess player then gives a signal with the horn raised . When the chess player has given a signal, the referee acknowledges with the horn and the time is stopped. (It is not a requirement that all participants are on the ground for the time to be stopped).
The judge then reviews the construction to assess whether it is set up exactly as shown in the drawing.
If the construction is correct:
The judge provides feedback to the chess team about any errors during assembly.
The chess player is informed of their assembly time , but not how much penalty time has been added.
If the construction is not correct :
A penalty of +1 minute is given per error or omission .
The referee points out the errors.
All chess members must be down on the ground, after which the referee gives a signal with the horn , and the time is started again.
The banner is taken down and the errors are corrected.
When the chess judge considers the construction to be correct, the banner is remounted and the chess judge gives a signal with the horn raised . The referee acknowledges with the horn , and time is stopped.
The review is repeated if necessary until the construction is in accordance with the drawing.
After approved setup, the chess player will have a minimum 10-minute break .
During the break, the referee gives feedback on:
the actual time of the match, as well as
which errors have triggered penalty time. (The exact number of penalty minutes is not disclosed at this time).
The construction must be set up within 1 hour and 30 minutes . If the time limit is exceeded, the judge will stop the work, the chess player will be given a 10-minute break, and the construction will be taken down. The chess player will then be eliminated from the championship.
When all chess players have completed the set-up within the time limit and received feedback, the judges start a countdown from 10. At the judge's horn signal, total dismantling begins, and the equipment is placed as at the start.
When the last scaffolding section has been placed back in its starting position and the referee has approved it, the referee gives a signal with the horn and the time is stopped.
All equipment must be dismantled, including couplings on pipes and starter pieces on spindles.
When the first round of chessmen have finished assembling and disassembling, and the equipment is in place, the next chessmen (e.g. starting numbers "2") begin their assembly according to the draw.
Visible intoxication or the use of stimulants will result in expulsion. The decision will be made by the judges together. Alcohol and intoxicants may not be consumed during work.
6. Jury, design judges and evaluation criteria
Each design is judged by at least one appointed judge .
If there is any doubt about a court order:
The other judges gather in a Jury (between rounds).
The judge in question presents his/her reasons.
The chess chess poop presents the chess rationale.
The jury makes its decision by simple majority vote.
The judges will be announced on the day. The aim is for them to be selected from scaffolding schools and various clubs across the country. Judges should not judge colleagues from their own club.
The judges' assessment includes:
safety during work,
the accuracy in relation to the construction drawing,
and the time for execution.
Penalty minutes are given for:
design defects,
violation of the rules, and
Violation of applicable safety regulations during assembly.
7. Championship winners
1. The winner of the Danish Championship in Scaffolding is the chess player who achieves the fastest total time in a combination of:
competence,
efficiency, and
security.
2. The total time is calculated as:
actual time for setup (including any changes),
time for dismantling,
any penalty minutes. When published, the following information is provided: actual time for set-up, actual time for take-down, total penalty minutes and the total time.
The chess player with the shortest total time is declared the winner of the Danish Scaffolding Championship.
In the event of a tie in total time, the chess player with the fewest penalty minutes wins.
If there is still a tie, a final between the two chess players is held.
The chess players are given a final assignment and 15 minutes for planning.
The final will then be held according to the same rules as before.
8. Championship organizers
1. The Danish Scaffolding Workers' National Club, supported by the sponsors of the Danish Scaffolding Championship, is the organizer of the Danish Scaffolding Championship 2025 for organized scaffolding workers and scaffolding companies.
