Bicycle race across the Great Belt affects traffic on Saturday

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, more than 2,000 cyclists will cross the Great Belt in connection with Denmark's longest exercise bike race from Aarhus to Copenhagen. The bridge will be open during the entire race, but travel times will be longer. Therefore, leave home well in advance and preferably cross the Great Belt before 1:00 p.m. or after 9:00 p.m. How traffic is affected

During the race, there will be two-way traffic in the westbound lanes towards Funen and Jutland, and the road's status will be changed to a country road with a speed limit of 80 km/h and overtaking is prohibited.

During this period, the trip across the bridge is expected to take an extra 10-15 minutes.

Leave home in good time

The bridge will be closed in two 45-minute intervals, in the afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and again in the evening at 8:00 p.m. to reroute traffic. There will be delays during the rerouting of traffic. Therefore, please leave home well in advance and cross the Great Belt before 1:00 p.m. or after 9:00 p.m.
